Leakage of nucleic acids (A) and proteins (B) from the WT and ΔtonB123 mutant. Nucleic acids leakage was assessed by measuring the absorbance of the supernatants of bacterial cultures at OD260. The protein concentration in supernatants was determined by the Bradford’s method. Data represent the means ± SEM from three independent experiments. “ns” signifies not statistically significant.
