Chicken skin with feathers. The skin from a 53-day old white Leghorn chicken, was harvested, fixed in 4% paraformaldehyde, and embedded in paraffin. Sections were stained with hematoxylin, eosin, saffron. (A) Skin region with a feather follicle.
