Cytokine expression in CD4+ T cells stimulated with S. Typhimurium LPS ex vivo. After immunization in mice, the cytokine stimulation index (SI) was expressed relative to the percentage of IFN-γ (A) or IL-4 (B) cell subsets in the BSG-treated group. Data from two independent experiments were pooled and analyzed (n = 4) by t-test and two-way ANOVA. NS = not significant. Error bars represent the standard deviation of 4 replicate samples.
