  1. a Donor brain tissues were obtained from mice previously classified as indeterminate (weak positive) or negative. The dpi and original RT-QuIC scores are provided for reference. Indeterminate mice are in italics.
  2. b Mice that showed a decrease in body condition (weight loss), weakness and/or neurologic signs (ataxia, gait abnormalities or balance issues) were classified as TSE suspects based on overall assessment of the live mouse.
  3. c The RT-QuIC assay was used to screen all second passage mice for prion seeding activity. The number of positive mice over the number of mice tested is shown. Mice were scored positive if ≥ 50% of the assay wells were positive. Positive controls were run on each assay plate and were consistently 100% positive (not shown in table).
