Treatment with cAMP increases the adhesion of F4 + ETEC to IPEC-J2 cells. WT ETEC C83902 and C83902ΔeltAB mutant strains were cultured to the logarithmic phase in the presence of 0, 2, 5, or 10 µM cAMP. The MOI of 30 bacteria per cell was added to each well of a 24-well cell culture plate and incubated in a CO2 incubator for 1.5 h. The number of colonies of adherent bacteria was determined by serial dilution (1:10). The data are expressed as the mean ± SD of triplicate experiments.
