The effect of allergen extracts, Toll-like receptor ligands, recombinant cytokines and vitamins on CXCL8 secretion by immortalised canine buccal epithelial cells. Immortalised canine buccal epithelial cells (n = 4 experimental days) were incubated for 24 h with a D. farinae, D. pteronyssinus, A. alternata, birch and timothy grass extract (A), with HKLM, Pam3CSK4, FSL-1, Poly I:C high (HMW) and low molecular weight (LMW), LPS, flagellin, imiquimod, ssRNA 40, ODN 2006 (B), with IFN-γ, IL-10, IL-17A, TGF-β1, IL-4, IL-6 (C) and with 1 µM calcitriol, 10 µM all-trans-retinoic acid (all-trans-RA) and 10 µM 9-cis-retinoic acid (9-cis-RA) (D). CXCL8 secretion was measured by ELISA. *p < 0.05 to control; **p < 0.01 to control; paired Student’s t-test.
