GSDMD inhibits Cxcl1 secretion in bone marrow-derived macrophages. A WT and GSDMD^−/− BMDMs were treated with S. aureus for 6 h and 24 h (MOI 1: 5, 1: 50, and 1: 100). Culture supernatants from BMDMs were analysed for Cxcl1 by ELISAs. WT and GSDMD^−/− BMDMs were treated with S. aureus (USA300, 8325–4, and DU1090) for 6 h B and 24 h C (MOI 1: 100). Culture supernatants from BMDMs were analysed for Cxcl1 by ELISAs. LI: live; FI: formaldehyde-inactivated; HI: heat-inactivated.
