The growth curves of the different strains cultured in LB and iron-depleted M9 media. The growth curves of the WT, mutant (DE205BΔ0007, DE205BΔ0008, DE205BΔ2235, DE205BΔireA) and complemented (DE205BΔ0007/0007*, DE205BΔ0008/0008*, DE205BΔ2235/2235*, DE205BΔireA/ireA*) strains cultured in LB, iron-depleted and iron-rich M9 media. Bacterial growth was estimated by measuring the optical density at 600 nm (OD600). A LB medium; B iron-depleted M9 medium; C iron-rich M9 medium.
