Intraperitoneal deposition of hydrocortisone increases the susceptibility of Atlantic salmon to SGPV. SGPV Ct values (assay targeting the SGPV D13L gene, Median with range) obtained from gills from fish in different groups (E.S; exposed to SGPV and received sham injection, and E.H; exposed to SGPV and received hydrocortisone injection) at different time points following virus exposure. Moribund fish in the E.H group are shown as red stars in the Figure.
