In vivo analysis of CNPs retention in chicken nasopharyngeal tissues. Female layer chickens (n = 3 in each group) were nasally treated with RITC tagged CNPs. Tissue sections were assessed 1 h, 3 h and 4 h after inoculation. Specific attachment of CNPs could be seen in red fluorescence. With time, CNPs penetrated deeper layers of the mucosal tissues. The stained tissues were visualized under a fluorescent microscope (Scale bar: 100 μm). Red fluorescent areas represent the penetration of CNPs inside intestinal tissues. The experiment was repeated twice.
