Lung explants challenged with Mmm—laser scanning confocal microscopy. A The merging of fluorochromes highlighted the close interaction between Mmm (green color) and pneumocytes (cytokeratin, red color). Colocalization of red and green signals was shown in white (B) and indicated the Mmm localization inside the cytoplasm of alveolar cells. C The merging of fluorochromes highlighted the close interaction between Mmm (green color) and the bronchiolar epithelium (cytokeratin, red color). Colocalization of red and green signals was shown in white (D) and indicated the Mmm localization inside the cytoplasm of bronchiolar cells. E The merging of fluorochromes highlighted the close interaction between Mmm (red color) and the endothelium (vWF, green color). Colocalization of red and green signals was shown in white (F) and indicated the Mmm localization inside the cytoplasm of endothelial cells.
