Description of data on the five farms. A. Number of cows with at least one adult sampling time point in each farm per day. (Because heifers are only eligible for testing at first calving, the number of cows appears lower for the last two sampling time points). B. The number of cows with positive samples per day. C. Total CFU for all cows per day. D. Number of cows which started shedding per day. The first sample day was not taken into account, since we had no earlier information and could not determine when the first appearance of clinical signs (high shedding) occurred. While some farms vary over time and contain information on the dynamics of the epidemics, others, such as Farm D2, have a very flat fraction of infectious cows and are thus not informative.
