Subpopulations of myeloid cells with differential expression of CD14 and CD16 are present in ovine peripheral blood. The expression of CD16 and CD14 was determined by single and two colour flow cytometry in freshly isolated ovine PBMC. Live, single cells gated as in Figure 1 were further analysed for the expression of CD14 (A), CD16 (B) or were double stained with mAbs to CD16 and CD14 (C). Distinct populations of cells were identified (C): CD14+CD16low/+, CD14−CD16++ and CD14−CD16+. Data shown are for one representative animal out of eight.
