  1. Complete sequences from this study are presented first and compared to complete sequences from the related Babesia (Babesia sp. Xinjiang from China and Babesia from giraffe and roan antelope in South Africa). The nucleotide position refers to the sequence DQ159073. Partial sequences from the Babesia isolated from red deer were compared between nucleotide positions 560 and 935. Dots (.) indicate sequence identity with the ST1 sequence. Dashes (?) indicate a deletion. Seq. type: sequence type.
