  1. Shown is the statistical analysis of IL-1β, IFN-γ and H+/K+ ATPase mRNA expression in the antrum and gastrin mRNA expression in the fundus of the gerbil stomach at 9 weeks after experimental infection. Cytokine expression was analyzed by analysis of variance with a Bonferroni post hoc test. H+/K+ ATPase and gastrin gene expression were compared between different infected groups and controls using Kruskall-Wallis analysis, followed by a Mann-Whitney U test. Differences were considered statistically significant at p ≤ 0.05. SPSS Statistics 21 software (IBM) was used for all analyses.
