Morphometric quantification of NCR1+ cells of the compartments in JPPs, IPP and CPs. A dome of jejunal Peyer’s patch (delineated) is shown to illustrate the method of quantification. The area of interest was interactively defined based on tissue morphology; here shown with a merged image (A) of CD3 in red (B), NCR1 in green (C) and unlabeled filter in blue (D). The cells were counted manually (circles) and were distinct from the autofluorescence (arrows) particularly present in the lamina propria and dome.
