Effect of T-2 toxin treatment of differentiated IPEC-J2 cells, on the invasion of Salmonella Typhimurium WT and Δ hilA. The invasiveness is shown of Salmonella Typhimurium WT (white bars) and Salmonella Typhimurium ΔhilA (black bars) in differentiated IPEC-J2 cells whether or not exposed to different concentrations of T-2 toxin (0.500-100 ng/mL). The log10 values of the number of gentamicin protected bacteria + standard deviation are given. Results are presented as a representative experiment conducted in triplicate. Superscript (*) refers to a significant difference compared to the control group (p < 0.05).
