Gray matter vacuolation profiles for white-tailed deer inoculated intracerebrally with scrapie or CWD. Vacuolation scores were higher in the cerebral cortex and colliculus and lower in the hippocampus in CWD-affected deer. The converse was present in scrapie-affected deer.
