Dr Michel Brémont

Dr Michel Brémont completed a masters degree in Biochemistry and Microbiology in 1980 from the Pierre and Marie Curie University in Paris, France. He also earned a degree in Molecular Virology in 1981 from the Pasteur Institute in Paris. He completed his Doctorate in 1983 and got a permanent position the same year as a scientist at the Animal Health Division of the French National Institute for Agricultural Research (INRA) where he worked for 10 years on rotaviruses. After one year spent at Stanford University as a visiting scientist, he became the leader of a group working on fish viruses. He has been the coordinator of many national and international joint research projects, mainly focusing on the development of new viral vaccines. He is currently Research Director at INRA and member of several committees as a scientific expert.
